It’s just one of those days: Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst & ‘The Fanatic’ nominated for Razzie Awards

Quiver DistributionTo say that last year’s Fred Durst-directed film The Fanatic was not well received would be quite the understatement — its Rotten Tomatoes score currently sits at a robust 17 percent.  And now it’s being celebrated as one of the worst movies of 2019.

The nominations for the 40th Razzie Awards have been announced, and The Fanatic made the cut for Worst Picture. The Limp Bizkit frontman himself is up for Worst Director, while his star, John Travolta, is being, um, recognized in the Worst Actor category.

Additionally, the Worst Screen Combo nominees include “John Travolta and Any Screenplay He Accepts.”

Hey, at least The Fanatic isn’t nominated for the Worst Reckless Disregard for Human Life and Public Property award, which is a new category for this year.

The Fanatic, Durst’s third feature directorial effort, stars Travolta as a man who becomes obsessed with meeting his favorite action film actor. The film was an immediate critical and commercial flop — according to The Hollywood Reporter, The Fanatic‘s opening weekend earnings were the worst for any movie starring Travolta.
