Josh Homme leads a trippy road trip in video for ‘Desert Sessions’ song “If You Run”

ABC/Randy HolmesThe video for “If You Run,” a song off the latest release from Josh Homme‘s Desert Sessions project, is out now.

The clip stars the Queens of the Stone Age frontman and singer Libby Grace, who handles lead vocals on the track, as they drive through California’s Joshua Tree desert towards the Rancho De La Luna recording studio. As you might expect from a desert road trip with Josh Homme, things get pretty trippy by the end.

“The video was inspired by Josh bringing an unknown Libby Grace into the Dessert Sessions arena to show her haunting magic to the world,” says director Rio Hackford. “Homme, [guitarist Matt] Sweeney and I are some of the only people who have heard Libby’s music, so the idea of them introducing her to the players and recording process lit the fuse.”

Hackford adds, “The song lent itself perfectly to the lonesome desert landscape and the spell that the Rancho can cast on anyone that passes through its doors.”

“If You Run” is included on the latest Desert Sessions release, Vols. 11 & 12, which was released last October. The collection also includes guest appearances by Royal Blood‘s Mike Kerr, ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons, Les Claypool of Primus, and Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters.

In other news, Homme has also announced the release of Dessert Sessions, a virtual cookbook inspired by the music of Desert Sessions. The recipe titles include Say Hello with Jello Forever, Far East for the Treats, and If You Bunt.
