Not so “Crazy”: The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach recorded an album with CeeLo Green

ABC/Randy HolmesDan Auerbach has found a new collaborator. The Black Keys frontman apparently has a project in the works with CeeLo Green.

Green, of course, is one half of the “Crazy” duo Gnarls Barkley, along with producer Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton. You may recall that Burton produced several Black Keys records, including Brothers, El Camino and Turn Blue.

Now, the R&B and hip hop legend — and former coach on The Voice —  tells ABC Audio that he “did an album” with Auerbach.

As for what the record sounds like, Green says he thinks it’s a “country album,” but admits that “nobody else does.”

“It’s almost like James Brown did a country album,” he explains. “But it’s something that CeeLo Green would definitely do.”

“I think people will enjoy it,” Green adds. “You just have to kinda hear it to appreciate it.”
