Slipknot, Billie Eilish, The 1975 & more win ‘NME’ Awards

Alexandria Crahan-Conway; ABC/Craig SjodinSlipknot, Billie Eilish and The 1975 were among the winners at the 2020 NME Awards, which were held Wednesday night in London.

The masked metallers were named Best Band in the World, while the teenage phenom won Best Song in the World, for “bad guy.” The 1975, who also performed during the ceremony, went home with two prizes: Best British Band, and the Innovator Award.

Other winners include Foals for Best Live Act, The Cure for Best Festival Headliner, Yungblud‘s Dan Reynolds collaboration “Original Me” for Best Music Video, and Lana Del Rey‘s Norman F***ing Rockwell for Best Album in the World.

Additionally, Courtney Love received the Icon Award. During her acceptance speech, the Hole frontwoman revealed that she’s 18 months sober.
