The track is available now as a digital single and via streaming platforms, and will appear on Clarke’s upcoming studio album, The Gospel Truth, which is due out later in 2020.

Gilby recorded The Gospel Truth at his Redrum Recording studio in Los Angeles. The album also features longtime John Fogerty touring drummer Kenny Aronoff; ex-Chris Robinson Brotherhood bassist Mark Dutton, a.k.a. Muddy Stardust; and Faster Pussycat‘s Chad Stewart on backing vocals.

In a new promotional Q&A, Clarke says his new song “is about having a rebellious spirit, adding, “Rock ‘n’ roll means many things. Rebelling…freedom…and being who you are on your own terms…not following whatever’s now in vogue. Therefore, ‘Rock n’ Roll Is Getting Louder’ means ‘I am what I am, I won’t change that, and I stand up for things that are important to me, even if it’s not popular.'”

As for how he feels about releasing new music, Gilby says, “Beyond excited…I need the new songs as an infusion. Letting that creative outlet thrive is something most artists need.”

Clarke also maintains that his new material isn’t very different from his previous work.

“I’m not trying to re-invent the wheel,” he says. “I have found the music that I like as an artist and a musician…I like rock ‘n’ roll, and loud guitars are good for the soul.”

Clarke has two confirmed concerts on his schedule, on April 24 in Fort Worth, Texas, and April 25 at the Bikes on the Bayou event in Houston. He’s also planning to line up more shows as The Gospel Truth‘s release approaches.
