Courtesy of ITBMetallica‘s Kirk Hammett, Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher and Aerosmith‘s Steven Tyler were among the many musicians who performed Tuesday night in London at a star-studded tribute concert to Peter Green, the original frontman for Fleetwood Mac.
Hammett played guitar on a performance of the Green-penned song “The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)” alongside ZZ Top‘s Billy Gibbons and Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood, who organized the event. “The Green Manalishi,” of course, was famously covered by Judas Priest.
Gallagher took the stage for a few songs, including the early Mac song “The World Keep on Turning,” which the rock icons later re-worked into the 1975 song “World Turning.”
Tyler handled vocals on a performance of “Oh Well, Part 1,” also with Gibbons and Fleetwood.
The concert also included performances by The Who‘s Pete Townshend, Pink Floyd‘s David Gilmour and Fleetwood‘s Christine McVie. The night was filmed and recorded for an upcoming concert movie and box set.
