Glastonbury 2020 canceled due to COVID-19

“Clearly this was not a course of action we hoped to take for our 50th anniversary event,” organizers for the U.K. mega festival say in a statement. “But following the new government measures announced this week — and in times of such unprecedented uncertainty — this is now our only viable option.”

The cancellation news comes just a week after the Glastonbury festival was announced. Headliners included Paul McCartneyKendrick LamarTaylor Swift and Diana Ross, and the rest of the bill featured Cage the ElephantThom YorkeBrittany HowardLana Del Rey and HAIM, among many more.

“No one has a crystal ball to see exactly where we will all be 15 weeks from now, but we are keeping our fingers firmly crossed that it will be here at Worthy Farm for the greatest show on Earth!” organizer Emily Eavis said at the time.
