Mexico’s first person to die from COVID-19 attended Ghost concert earlier this month

Mariano Regidor/RedfernsThe first person in Mexico to die from COVID-19 attended a Ghost concert earlier this month.

According to Mexican outlets including El Universal and Milenio, the 41-year-old man saw a show at the Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City on March 3, the same night that Ghost played. He started show symptoms on March 9.

That Mexico City show was also the same night that Ghost frontman Tobias Forge revealed his new character, Papa Emeritus IV.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that a New Zealand man who tested positive for COVID-19 had recently attended a Tool concert. As a result of the pandemic, seemingly every spring tour and festival has been postponed or canceled.
