Pearl Jam premieres new ‘Gigaton’ track, “Quick Escape”

Pearl Jam has premiered another new track from the group’s upcoming album, Gigaton.

The latest cut is a political tune titled “Quick Escape,” which imagines a world in which we have to find another planet to live on after Earth is destroyed. It takes aim specifically at President Donald Trump, with lyrics such as “The lengths we had to go to then/To find a place Trump hadn’t f***ed up yet.”

“Quick Escape” is available now for digital download, and you can also listen to it while playing Pearl Jam’s new, Space Invaders-esque online arcade game via QuickEscape.PearlJam.com.

Gigaton, the follow-up to 2013’s Lightning Bolt, arrives this Friday. It also includes the previously released singles “Dance of the Clairvoyants” and “Superblood Wolfmoon.”

Pearl Jam is supposed to be currently on a North American tour in support of Gigaton, but the outing’s been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
