UK’s Download Festival canceled due to COVID-19

Katja Ogrin/RedfernsThe U.K. metal and hard rock Download Festival has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Set to take place June 12-14 at England’s Donington Park, the event’s lineup included headliners System of a DownIron Maiden and KISS, as well as DeftonesAlter BridgeKornDisturbedMastodon, The Offspring and Volbeat.

“We’ve been closely monitoring this unprecedented situation and it’s become clear that it just isn’t possible for the 2020 festival to go ahead,” Download organizers say in a statement. “This decision hasn’t been taken lightly and we’re beyond disappointed, we extend our heartfelt apologies to all of you — we really did try to make this work.”

Ticket-holders may receive refunds, or roll over their tickets to Download 2021.
