The Hives frontman says he has COVID-19; band launching archival live concert video series

Robert Schlesinger/RedfernsThe Hives frontman “Howlin'” Pelle Almqvist believes he has the COVID-19 coronavirus.

In a Facebook post, the Swedish rocker writes that he’s “at the end of week one of what I think is COVID-19 infection.” He does add that he’s “feeling slightly better,” though.

But Almqvist is keeping with spirits high thanks to a new Hives archival live concert video series, dubbed the Hivemanor Livemanor. The first video captures the group’s 2009 covers show in Sydney, Australia.

The Hives released a pair of new tunes, “I’m Alive” and “Good Samaritan,” in 2019. The band’s most recent album is 2012’s Lex Hives.
