Listen to Josh Homme sing “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding?” with Sharon Van Etten

SVE ProductionsQueens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme has teamed up with indie singer-songwriter Sharon Van Etten for a joint cover of “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding?”

The track was originally written by English singer-songwriter Nick Lowe, and was famously covered by Elvis Costello & the Attractions. For this new version, Van Etten was inspired by Bill Murray‘s karaoke performance of the song in the 2003 movie Lost in Translation

“I always turn to Bill Murray movies for comfort,” she says. “He is my spirit animal.”

You can download the cover now via digital outlets.

Meanwhile, Homme is guesting on the upcoming Run the Jewels album RTJ4, due out June 5, and Van Etten recently collaborated with Fountains of Wayne on a recording of “Hackensack” in honor of the band’s late bassist, Adam Schlesinger.
