Billie Joe Armstrong has been releasing weekly covers for about two months now, and it appears his band mates wanted in on the fun.

Green Day has released a cover of the Blondie song “Dreaming,” which you can download now via digital outlets. The performance is accompanied by a video of a dog dreaming of past Green Day concerts, back in the Before Time when live shows were possible. You can watch it streaming now on YouTube.

“This video’s for all of you,” Green Day says “We can’t wait to see your faces when we’re back out in the world.”

Armstrong launched his “No Fun Mondays” covers series in March. Each Monday, he’s released a new cover, which he plans to continue doing “until we’re let back out into the world.”  Previous covers include “I Think We’re Alone Now” by Tommy James & the Shondells, “Manic Monday” by The Bangles with Susanna Hoffs, the Adam Schlesinger-penned song “That Thing You Do!”, and “Kids in America” byKim Wilde.

Meanwhile, Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has put his spin on a Green Day song. During his latest “Island in the Zoom,” Cuomo performed a cover of the punk trio’s kiss-off-song-turned-graduation-staple “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life),” which you can watch now streaming on YouTube.

Green Day and Weezer, of course, were scheduled to hit the road together this summer alongside Fall Out Boy on the massive Hella Mega tour, but that’s been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
