“Master of Puppets” crowned top Metallica song by fans

Blackened Recordings The people have spoken. And by “people,” we mean Metallica fans on social media.

Back in May, the metal legends launched #SomeKindofBracket, an NCAA tourney-style competition pitting 64 of the band’s songs against each other until one reigns supreme, with fans voting on which tracks advanced.

After a grueling battle, “Master of Puppets” has been crowned the winner. The title track from the beloved 1986 ‘Tallica album made the final four, along with “One,” “Enter Sandman” and “Fade to Black,” and ultimately defeated “One” in the championship.

Meanwhile, it seems a future Metallica bracket might feature some new entries, as drummer Lars Ulrich recently revealed that the band has been “exchanging ideas” about fresh material amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
