A Day to Remember bassist Josh Woodard shares statement following sexual misconduct allegations

Rick Kern/WireImageA Day to Remember bassist Josh Woodard has released a statement denying unspecified “allegations” that have “circulated around the internet in recent weeks.”

The statement does not mention any specific claims made against Woodard, but it arrives after a since-deleted tweet posted in June accused the musician of having sex with an intoxicated 16-year-old.

“First, let me be clear that the events described never happened and these allegations are false,” Woodard writes.

“Up until now, I have remained silent because I do not feel it is appropriate to handle or debate this situation on social media,” he continues. “Addressing this is my personal responsibility, and I have chosen to defend myself through the proper legal channels.”

Woodard adds that he plans to “continue dealing with this matter privately in order to protect myself and my family.”

Woodard is an original member of A Day to Remember, having joined the band when it formed in 2003.
