Corey Taylor looks forward to ‘CMFT2’: “I’ve got material for two other albums”

Roadrunner RecordsCorey Taylor will finally release his debut solo album, CMFT, in the fall, and he’s already looking ahead to a follow-up.

“I’ve got material for two other albums,” the Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman tells Kerrang! “I’ve been sitting on a lot of stuff for a long, long time, so I’m definitely prepared for it, and I’ve already got it mapped out how I will do it.”

As Taylor explains, he’s set aside 2021 for Slipknot, since the masked metallers were forced to scrap all of their summer tour plans this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Once everything starts to fire back up — knock on wood — it’s probably going to be another year of touring with Slipknot, just to cover our bases and make sure we get around the world, and get to the fans,” Taylor says.

After that, though, Taylor will refocus on his solo career.

“I’m gonna do more solo stuff — maybe even go in and record CMFT2,” he says. “Ostensibly that’s’’ the plan. And then really tour, and then be able to tour on two albums.”

In the meantime, you can look forward to CMFT arriving on October 2.
