Blink-182 teases release of new song, “Quarantine”

Daniel Knighton/Getty ImagesA new Blink-182 song will be released Friday — if the punk rockers keep their social media promise.

On Wednesday, the trio published an Instagram post featuring the cover art to an upcoming single called “Quarantine.” In the caption, they wrote, “100 likes and we release this song Friday.”

As of Thursday morning, the post has well over 100,000 likes, so it certainly appears that “Quarantine” will indeed be dropping tomorrow.

“Quarantine,” which drummer Travis Barker first started teasing in May, will follow Blink’s 2019 album, Nine. That effort features the singles “Blame It on My Youth” and “I Really Wish I Hated You.”

In other Blink-182 quarantine news, the band’s video for “Happy Days” — which was filmed while in isolation amid the COVID-19 pandemic — is nominated for two MTV VMAs: Best Rock and Best Music Video from Home. The 2020 edition of the annual award show will take place August 30.
