David Wolff – Patrick/RedfernsFive Finger Death Punch apparently isn’t a fan of the whole wearing-masks-to-prevent-the-spread-of-coronavirus thing.
The Las Vegas metallers have premiered the video for their song “Living the Dream,” in which a political figure hands a mask to a smiling man. When he puts the mask on, he is given a pin that says “compliant,” and features the hammer-and-sickle logo often associated with communism.
At the end of the clip, which also features zombies mining for toilet paper and someone dressed as Captain America snorting cocaine, we see the FFDP band members, along with soldiers and police officers, running on a field while holding American flags, only to get gunned down.
But wait, there’s more! It turns out the whole thing was a nightmare dreamed by the Founding Fathers, who are about to sign the U.S. Constitution.
“We are living in the manipulators’ paradise, where liars and hypocrites run unscathed, the news are just opinions, politics are a blood sport, and facts are determined by consensus instead of the truth,” says guitarist Zoltan Bathory. “We as artists, however, have a unique opportunity to portray and ridicule the absurd to prevent it from becoming reality.”

By the way, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends you wear a mask in public settings to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
“Masks are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public settings,” reads a statement on the CDC website.
