The Offspring announces 20th anniversary ‘Conspiracy of One’ vinyl reissue

Round Hill Records/UMe The Offspring has announced a special vinyl reissue of the band’s 2000 album Conspiracy of One in honor of its 20th anniversary.

The deluxe package will arrive on December 11, and includes the bonus track “Huck It,” which had been included on certain international releases of the original album. “Huck It” will be released as a standalone single on November 13.

Conspiracy of One was originally released on November 14, 2000. The platinum-certified record spawned the singles “Original Prankster” and “Want You Bad.”

“When we put Conspiracy of One out in 2000, Bill Clinton was still president, and September 11 hadn’t happened yet,” says frontman Dexter Holland.

“While in the past, nations were generally attacked by other nations — army vs. army — we realized that the world was changing and that future attacks against our country were just as likely to occur by an individual or a small group…a ‘Conspiracy of One,'” Holland continues. “Of course, we had no idea what was in store for us on September 11, 2001, or how our title portended things to come.”

Along with the reissue, The Offspring has been working on a new album, the long-awaited follow-up to 2012’s Days Go By. Over the summer, Holland told Download TV that the record was “on hold” due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Back in the spring, The Offspring released a cover of the Tiger King song “Here Kitty Kitty.”
