The Killers make fun of Donald Trump with “#RiggedGrammys” tweet

Taylor Hill/Getty ImagesThe Killers are channeling the energy of President Donald Trump while lamenting their lack of Grammy nominations.

In an all-caps tweet, Brandon Flowers and company wrote, “Observers were not allowed into the counting rooms. We won the Grammys, got loads of legal votes.”

“Bad things happened which our observers were not allowed to see,” the band added. “Never happened before. Dozens of ballots were sent to people who never asked for them!”

The tweet, which also included the hashtags #RiggedGrammys and #WeWon, makes fun of Trump’s repeated, evidence-free claims of mass voter fraud in his election loss to President-elect Joe Biden.

The Killers released their new album, Imploding the Mirage, in August. It includes the singles “Caution” and “My Own Soul’s Warning.”

As for who’s actually nominated for Grammys, the 2021 rock categories largely recognize indie-leaning female artists, such as Fiona Apple, Brittany Howard and Phoebe Bridgers. In fact, the Best Rock Performance category is made up of solely female-fronted acts for the first time in the award’s history.
