Jack White live album & ‘SNL’ single to be released in latest Third Man Records Vault package

Third Man RecordsA Jack White live album and single capturing his 2020 Saturday Night Live performance will be released as part of the Third Man Records Vault subscription service package.

Jack White: Live at the Masonic Temple was recorded in 2014 in the White Stripes rocker’s hometown of Detroit. The three-hour, 38-song set spanned White’s whole career, and included covers of Led Zeppelin‘s “The Lemon Song” and Beck‘s “Devils Haircut,” plus an onstage collaboration with his Dead Weather band mates Alison Mosshart and Dean Fertita.

The SNL single, meanwhile, was recorded during White’s performance on the long-running sketch show last October, when he was called in at the last minute to replace country star Morgan Wallen, who was dropped from the episode after footage spread on social media of him partying among crowds without wearing a mask.

White’s SNL set included a medley of the White Stripes classic “Ball and Biscuit,” his Beyoncé collaboration “Don’t Hurt Yourself,” and a cover of “Jesus is Coming Soon” by Blind Willie Johnson. He also played his solo song “Lazaretto” with a guitar designed for him by Eddie Van Halen, who had just died earlier that week.

Live at the Masonic Temple consists of four vinyl LPs. The SNL performance is on a seven-inch single.

To receive the latest Vault package, you need to sign up for the service by January 31. Visit ThirdManStore.com for more info.
