Mötley Crüe gives shout-out to 15-year-old ‘American Idol’ contestant who auditioned with “Live Wire”

ABC/Christopher WillardThe American Idol judges weren’t the only ones impressed with 15-year-old contestant Casey Bishop‘s rendition of Mötley Crüe‘s “Live Wire.”

Bishop performed an a cappella rendition of the 1981 rocker for her audition, which aired on Sunday’s episode of the ABC singing competition show. In addition to earning her way to Hollywood to the next round, Bishop also received praise from the Crüe themselves.

“Congratulations to Casey Bishop who blew away the judges with an awesome rendition of ‘Live Wire,'” the band tweeted Monday.

Bassist Nikki Sixx added that he thought Bishop “slay[ed]” her performance.

American Idol airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
