ABCTravis Barker is in a happy relationship with Kourtney Kardashian and, on Thursday, revealed more about what it’s like to date a reality star.
The Blink-182 drummer was a guest on The Drew Barrymore Show, where the two began discussing their respective love life. For host Drew Barrymore, she says she’s still looking for Mr. Right and asked her guest for some dating advice.
Most importantly, she asked if she should seek out a fellow single parent or someone who doesn’t have children.
Barker said his relationship with Kourtney is all about “maturity,” and admitted that he used to exclusively date “girls who didn’t have kids.”
As for why he preferred women without children, he told Barrymore, “I find it kind of hard, because I think they would have trouble understanding, like ‘Why don’t you want to go to dinner every night with me? Or why don’t you want to see me every night?'”
The drummer has three children, 17-year-old Landon, 15-year-old Alabama and stepdaughter Atiana, who is 21.
Barker admits Kourtney has shown him the error of his ways and attested, ” I’m spending time with a woman who’s a great mom, who’s a great friend, and you don’t have to worry about any of those things. It just comes natural.”
“It’s a maturity thing,” he added. “I also like missing someone and cherishing the time that I spend with them, instead of every day being with them. Especially in the beginning of the relationship. I think missing someone’s so important.”
Barker and Kardashian have reportedly been friends for years and, in January, confirmed that their friendship has progressed into a full-blown romance.
Kourtney is mom to Mason, 11, Penelope, eight, and six-year-old Reign.
