Lacuna Coil’s Cristina Scabbia says new album ‘Black Anima’ is “like a great movie”

Century Media/RED MusicLacuna Coil‘s new album Black Anima arrives October 11, and front woman Cristina Scabbia says it’ll take fans on a roller coaster ride of emotions.

Asked by Kerrang! magazine why people should listen to Black Anima, Scabbia says, “Because it is like a great movie. They will feel great and angry and happy and awkward. At the end they will feel a sense of relief and release — that’s what I get from this record.”

Scabbia also reveals a number of odd facts about herself to Kerrang!: She’s addicted to Pokémon GO; when she was 12, she fractured her skull when she sleepwalked out a window; the weirdest thing she ever ate was a cricket and a worm.

“They were pre-prepared and quite salty,” she explains.

Scabbia also says the funniest rumor she’s ever heard about herself is that, “in our early days, it was said that I was taking showers with all the guys at the end of shows.”

“Obviously it’s not true,” she adds. “But what makes it even funnier is that in our early years it was impossible to find a shower backstage at all.”

Lacuna Coil is currently on their first U.S. tour, with All That Remains. The day of Black Anima‘s release, the Italian goth metallers will perform in Minneapolis, MN.  The U.S. leg of the tour wraps up October 16.

Black Anima is the follow-up to 2016’s Delirium.
