Bring Me the Horizon recruits Forest Whitaker for sci-fi “In the Dark” video

ABC/Randy HolmesBring Me the Horizon has premiered the video for “In the Dark,” a track from the band’s new album, Amo.

The clip, streaming now via NME.com, stars Black Panther and Rogue One actor Forest Whitaker in a dystopian sci-fi world.

“We met Forest a couple of years back,” frontman Oli Sykes tells NME. “His daughter is a fan of the band and he came to a show with her. Any time that we’re in the same town, he usually comes down to a show. He was at [the] All Points East [festival] and he’s just a really good dude.”

In the video, Whitaker is sitting in a high-tech chair with cords attached to his head as he stares a video screen and cries.

“I guess it’s meant to be a representation of the grieving process,” Sykes explains. “It’s a visual metaphor for what the song is talking about.”

Bring Me the Horizon is currently touring the U.S. in support of Amo, which also features the lead single “Mantra.” The outing continues Monday in Oklahoma City.
