The Raconteurs drop off Woodstock 50 lineup

ABC/Randy HolmesThe Raconteurs have officially dropped off the lineup for Woodstock 50.

“Unfortunately, The Raconteurs will no longer be playing Woodstock 50,” reads a statement posted on the band’s Facebook page. Instead, Jack White and company will play a show at the Rapids Theatre in Niagra Falls, New York on August 16.

The Raconteurs’ announcement follows the news that Woodstock 50 will now be held at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, hundreds of miles away from the original location of Watkins Glen, New York.

It’s also been reported that organizers for the much-beleaguered festival have released all artists on the announced lineup from their contracts, and are working towards putting together a new lineup just weeks away from the three-day event.

Other artists from the original lineup who’ve reportedly pulled out include the Grateful Dead spin-off group Dead & Company and rapper JAY-Z. Creedence Clearwater Revival‘s John Fogerty has also dropped off the bill, while The Black Keys canceled their appearance back in April due to a “scheduling conflict.”

The original lineup also included The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Greta Van Fleet, Cage the Elephant, The Lumineers, Portugal. the Man and Robert Plant, as well as Miley Cyrus, Chance the Rapper and Halsey.

Woodstock 50, should it actually happen, goes down August 16-18.
