The Smashing Pumpkins perform “Knights of Malta” on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’

Scott Kowalchyk/CBSBefore opening their summer tour, The Smashing Pumpkins gave us a taste of what to expect on Wednesday night’s edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS with a performance of “Knights of Malta.”

“Knights” is from last November’s Shiny and Oh So Bright, Vol. 1/LP: No Past. No Future. No Sun. It’s the first Smashing Pumpkins album in over 18 years to include frontman Billy Corgan with founding members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlin.

The Pumpkins kick off their summer trek Thursday in Camden, New Jersey. They’ll be joined on the road by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and AFI. The tour wraps August 31 in Mountain View, California.
