Check out the MCR covers that gave Gerard Way "chills"

Reprise RecordsGerard Way is shining a light on a pair of My Chemical Romance covers that gave him “chills.”

In an Instagram post, Way shared his love for Australian musician Alex Lahey‘s take on “Welcome to the Black Parade,” which she did for Australia’s triple j radio, as well as anti-folk artist Kimya Dawson‘s acoustic Instagram performance of “The Kids from Yesterday.”

“What I appreciate about Alex and Co’s ‘Parade’ cover is how much they really went for it, and with all of the additional instruments (those cymbals!) and everyone singing and just smiling and having a good time,” Way writes. “Really amazing performance.”

Way adds that he felt Dawson’s cover was “delicate and raw and soulful.”
