The Number of the Caps: Iron Maiden’s signature beer bottles now have collectable bottlecaps

Ben Pruchnie/Getty ImagesAs if you needed another reason to drink beer and listen to Iron Maiden: The band’s signature Trooper beer now comes with exclusive collector bottlecaps.

Starting this month, all Trooper beer bottles will sport the special caps, which feature artwork commemorating every one of Iron Maiden’s albums, from 1980’s self-titled release to 2015’s Book of Souls. The caps — 16 different designs in all — can also be found on the brew’s limited-edition Halloween-inspired Day of the Dead bottles.

Two million of the bottlecaps will be available globally, but naturally, some of the cap designs are rarer than others. If you want to make it your life’s work to collect all the caps, you can buy an exclusive collector frame to display them all: the frames are now available from Robinson’s Brewery, which makes the beer.

In a statement, Sam Kennerly, the brand manager for Trooper, says, “Iron Maiden and Trooper fans are some of the most dedicated and passionate in the world, so we wanted to create something completely new and different for them.”

He adds, “Iron Maiden is so iconic and distinctive, and creating the bottlecaps is just one of the ways we wanted to celebrate the band and its amazing artwork.”
