Yee Like a Haw: Trent Reznor celebrates CMA nomination with photoshopped Brooks & Dunn picture

CMA Now that Trent Reznor is a Country Music Association Award nominee, it’s clearly time for a wardrobe change.

Earlier this week, Lil Nas X‘s Billy Ray Cyrus-featuring viral hit “Old Town Road,” which credits the Nine Inch Nails frontman as a producer, received a CMA nomination for Musical Event of the Year.

In response, Reznor shared an Instagram post of his and band mate Atticus Ross’ faces, photoshopped over the faces of iconic country music duo Brooks & Dunn.

“New world, new times,” Reznor wrote in the caption.

Reznor and Ross are credited producers on “Old Town Road” because the track samples the 2008 Nine Inch Nails song “34 Ghost IV.” They’re also listed as co-writers, meaning that when “Old Town Road” hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 — and stayed there for a record-breaking 19 weeks — Reznor earned his first number-one hit.

The 2019 CMA Awards air Wednesday, November 13 on ABC.
